This 4 month old baby hears his mother’s voice for the first time and his smile will melt your heart

The baby you are seeing in the picture above, with a cute smile is Matthew Swetnam and there is a heart warming reason for that happy smile.
This baby named Mathew had a premature birth (nearly eight months earlier) weighing just about 2 pounds. Of course following his early birth he was kept in a special care unit for almost 7 weeks. In that period the doctors found out that Mathew is effected by a virus called congenital cytomegalovirus (CMV) which arose strange complications for baby Mathew.

Somewhat like the Zika virus, CMV causes body deficiencies and developmental disabilities in various parts of the body. In this case CMV caused the baby's deafness and other birth defects as explained Matthew's mother, Erin Swetnam, in her YouTube video.

After four long months because of the virus which causes slow body development the baby's hearing ability was very low that it's almost considered deaf. But thanks to today's technology Mathew's hearing abilities were amplified by using special hearing device. And when the device was first turned on, you can see the utter happiness and the joyful smile when he was able to hear suddenly the flood of sounds including his mother's.

"Is mama's voice not very pleasant?" Erin joked on camera in response to his crying.

Mathew able to hear in long time not just amazed him but also brought a smile and tears in the mother's eye and thanks to Erin with camera who captured these sensational moments.
